About This Site - IFAQ (Infrequently Asked Questions)

Why are most of the references to Sweden? Don't you know that there are other Scandinavian countries?

This site was created by Kisha Geijer, who happens to be married to a Swede and living in the US. They met online in 1998, were married in 2000 and are now living happily ever after.

As such, most of her experience is with Sweden, but it was decided by the Bjorn team that the Scandinavian countries are similar enough to include in the focus of the site. Hopefully, the non-Swedish resource sections will grow with time as we get more members from places other than Sweden. If not, well, then the site will just exist for Swedes in the US. No big deal.

Isn't it weird that this site for Scandinavians in the US wasn't written by a Scandinavian at all?

Yes.

But Finland and Iceland aren't Scandinavian countries, are they?

This seems to be a somewhat touchy question. The short answer is that it depends on who you ask. Traditionally, Scandinavian countries have consisted of Norway, Denmark and Sweden. We went with a more relaxed view on the subject (See Nordic FAQ on this topic) and included Finland and Iceland, since this isn't so much a site for debating semantics as a resource for those living abroad.

Where are all these pictures from?

They were all taken by Magnus or Kisha Geijer, and they're all taken in or around Stockholm. The heading at the top of the page was taken at Zinkensdamm, where they got engaged. They're all copyrighted to them, please don't take them without permission.

Why does the site look kinda funny in Netscape 4?

Netscape 4 is very, very old. Let it die in peace. Upgrade to a standards-compliant browser and the whole web will look better.

Small Island.
Red House.
White Flower.
Cramped Moose.
